Meet Catherin Verano

Catherin Gumahad Veverano has been working in Dubai since approximately 2019, with experience in commercial kitchens and private homes. She worked for two years as a Commi Chef at Rixos JBR Hotel, specializing in live show English breakfast preparation. Following this, she spent two years at Mövenpick Dubai as a Commi Chef in the cold section. She then worked for one year at Sogo Pipi Cafeteria as a Commi Chef. After her commercial kitchen experience, she transitioned to private home cooking, working for four months as a Commi Chef preparing Italian food for one private home, followed by six months in a similar role for another private home in Dubai. Her responsibilities across these positions included accurately measuring meal ingredients, preparing meal ingredients such as seasoning meats and washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits, preparing basic salads and sauces as directed, receiving deliveries and verifying that all ordered items were delivered and of good quality, taking inventory of supplies and notifying supervisors of low or depleted supplies, discarding expired and spoiled food items, performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring workstations were properly sanitized, and plating and presenting meal items according to instructions. She speaks English and Tagalog, and her experience totals approximately five years in hospitality kitchens and ten months in private home cooking specializing in Italian cuisine.
