Meet Joponise Ebot

Ebot Joponise Echi has developed specialized expertise in supporting children with learning disabilities and special educational needs through three years of dedicated work in UAE educational settings. From 2022 to 2024, she served as a teaching assistant and learning support assistant at ABC Primary in Sharjah, where she supported a child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and speech delay. Her responsibilities included applying Applied Behavior Analysis techniques such as positive reinforcement and task breakdown to promote communication and independence, working collaboratively with speech and language therapists to incorporate visual aids that improved speaking and listening skills. She collected observational data to support individualized education plan reviews and progress tracking while helping manage classroom behavior and reduce distractions through early intervention strategies. Currently working as a learning support assistant at British Orchard in Dubai since 2025, Ebot supports a 4-year-old student diagnosed with ADHD and mild autism spectrum disorder. In this role, she implements visual schedules, picture cards, and calming routines to improve focus and ease transitions while promoting inclusive learning through task adaptation and ABA strategies. She facilitates social skills development through small group activities and monitors student behavior and progress, collaborating with the Head of Inclusion and special educational needs team to update individualized education plans. She describes herself as empathetic, patient, caring, creative, and flexible in her approach, with strong team collaboration skills and attention to detail in student support. This learning support professional speaks fluent English and French, holds residence visa status in Dubai, and possesses certifications in Applied Behavior Analysis and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities along with university transcripts in special education from the University of Buea.
