When I moved to Oman I studied Arabic - one of the greatest challenges of my adult life! I love learning Arabic and it inspired the name of my business - Ertiah by Kim. Ertiah means relief or satisfaction which are my goals as I support women!

I provide physical, emotional, informational and advocacy support to you throughout your pregnancy, labor and postpartum periods.
What’s included
Doula packages are customizable. The standard birth doula package includes:
- Two prenatal visits to discuss your pregnancy, birth preferences, practice comfort measures, create a birth plan and a plan for the postpartum period.
- Continuous support by phone or email until 2 weeks postpartum.
- On-call period begins two weeks before your estimated due-date.
- Continuous birth support from the on-set of labor until 1-2 hours postpartum .
- Assistance with breastfeeding if needed.
- One postpartum visit to see how things are going, answer questions and debrief your birth.
- Support through unexpected negative outcomes or perinatal loss.
- Connection to local and online resources as needed.

Questions
Do I need a doula if I have a midwife?
Yes! Doulas and midwives perform completely separate jobs. A midwife is a trained medical professional who is able to deliver babies and perform a variety of procedures. Doulas offer physical, emotional, educational and advocacy support, but do not perform any medical tasks or interfere with them. Midwives and doulas love to work together.
Is a doula worth it if I'm planning on getting an epidural?
Doulas support all kinds of births! While many clients are hoping to have an unmedicated birth, everyone can benefit from a doula. Remember that doulas do much more than pain relief during birth- education about the process, emotional and advocacy support, postpartum help and support, and other roles are also a part of the package.
Will my partner feel replaced by a doula?
Doulas are in no way meant to take on the same role as your partner. Your partner knows you, your comforts, your emotions, and what you need better than anyone and will be a huge part of your birth. Doulas come with knowledge about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum that your partner may not have and help them find the best way to apply that knowledge to you. We love to work with partners, giving them tips for comfort measures and empowering them to be a part of the journey.
When should I hire a doula?
The earlier the better! You deserve to find a doula that you connect with and feel comfortable with so I usually recommend in your second trimester you interview a couple of doulas. Starting earlier gives you time to make a decision and have time to build a relationship with your doula.
How does virtual support work?
All of my services are possible virtually! Most often this is done through zoom, but other applications are possible as well phone consultations.
